The Truth about Wrinkle Freezing Creams

Can a cream or lotion really mimic the results of Botox? Well the beauty world is a buzz following the launch of several products which claim that rater than having your muscles frozen by injection, you can achieve a similar anti-ageing effect applying a serum from the comfort of your own bathroom.

Before you rush to the beauty counter do these creams really magically restore the face to an unlined state? “No cream can exactly copy Botox because it won’t penetrate the skin’s top layer to the muscles” says cosmetic Doctor Michael Prager, “There may be some effect but its unlikely a cream can emulate an injection”.

There are two new ingredients causing all the buzz, both are amino acid peptides. First look out for Argireline which when used in concentrations of 10% in a cream can reduce wrinkle depth by up to 30%. Secondly Matrixyl in concentrations of at least 3% temporarily help those wrinkles.

In truth a cream can never replicate the Botox success so don’t expect too much from any lotion. Check the concentrates of these new ingredients in any new purchase and keep expectations realistic.
